Looking for a recipe for simple cooked spinach.?

We just got back from a cruise where they served cooked spinach as a side and it was amazing. I know it had onions in it, but that's about all I have to go on.





If you have a good (I'm guessing simple) spinach recipe that uses onions. . .I'd appreciate it.Looking for a recipe for simple cooked spinach.?
well what i do with the spinach,i just saute them in garlic,onions, throw the washed spinach,add salt and pepper to taste..cover for 5minutes til cook ...serve! or you can saute also spinach in garlic,onions and oyster sauce!thanks!Looking for a recipe for simple cooked spinach.?
Fresh Spinach


Coat skillet with olive oil over medium heat


Add fresh spinach, green onions, salt, pepper and 1tsp hot sauce


cook just until wilted to 1/2 its volume


add 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar


remove from heat


toss
Well my dad always made awesome sauteed spinach.


i think it has shallots,garlic,onions and butter.


simple but amazing.
SPINACH WITH ONIONS

2 lb Fresh spinach


2 tb Margarine


1/2 c Onion


ds Each nutmeg, thyme, salt


ds Freash ground pepper





Rinse spinach thoroughly; place in to top of double boiler and heat


until wilted. Drain and chop coarsely. Melt margarine in skillet;


add onion. Saute over high heat until onion is brown on the edges.


Add sersonings. Stir to blend. Add and toss to blend.


Food Exchange per serving: 1/2 VEGETABLE EXCHANGE + 1/2 FAT EXCHANGE

dice some onions in amount according to your liking, saute them in some light virgin olive oil, when they become transparent wilt the spinach in and season to your liking then serve

Spinach and Onion Couscous





Colorful and a delicious side dish or main dish.

1 medium onion, chopped


2 garlic cloves, minced


2 tablespoons olive oil


1 (14 1/2 ounce) can chicken broth


1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach


1 (10 ounce) package couscous


3/4 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese


2 tablespoons lemon juice


salt (to taste)


fresh ground pepper (to taste)


1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted





In a saucepan, cook and stir onion and garlic in hot oil until tender.


Add the broth and spinach; cook and stir frequently until the spinach thaws.


Bring mixture to a boil and stir occasionally.


Add in couscous; stir to combine.


Cover, remove pan from heat, and let stand 5 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.


Add remaining ingredients; stir to combine.


Serve immediately.
